    Oct 31, 2009 · I know the RAM limitations of Windows XP 32-bit. I am looking to Dual Boot between XP 32-bit and Vista 64-bit. Ideally, I would like to have 6GB RAM in the machine. Does Windows XP 32-bit act normally if the computer does indeed have more RAM than the OS can address? Or will there be many errors and broken programs? I am assuming that it will work just like normal, and ignore the unnecessary RAM.

    Nov 26, 2009 · Heads up, I have both XP and 7-64 bit installed now on two separate physical hdds with 6GB of RAM. 7 sees all of it, XP shows only 3GB - which is fine. Other than that, there is no side effects whatsoever. It might sound like a heresy, but for now, I still like my XP more.

    Windows XP SP3 does not recognize new RAM. I upgraded from 2GB to 6GB. Motherboard is Intel D975XBX. 2 1GB modules are in DIMMs 0 (blue). 2 2GB modules are in DIMMs 1 (black). Windows System Info reads only 3.24 GB of RAM. I have tried other configurations of the modules, following Intel's instructions for their placement carefully.
