Jan 07, 2014 · Windows 8.1 Ad Hoc not showing. A friend of mine just updated her Windows 8 to 8.1. When she used Win 8 we had no problem with me making af Ad-Hoc network (With Win 7) and her seeing and connecting to it. But after she updatet Windows it wont see Ad-Hoc networks anymore.

Starting with Windows 8.1, Microsoft reduced support for Adhoc Wifi networks. As a result, Windows 8.1 does not detect or display Adhoc networks in the list of available wireless networks (also known as the "wireless network picker").

Aug 10, 2013 · adHoc 8 is a good tool for creating Ad-Hoc networks on Windows 8 devices, as it does not support them natively. Do remember that even if you have an older version of Windows like XP, Vista or 7, you can still use this tool!

Nov 01, 2012 · Ad hoc connection unfortunately seems to be removed in Windows 8 - dunno why - with Vista and later, it had WPA2 security. And Wi-Fi Direct seems to be exposed only in the Play To GUI and Devices charms, it doesn't seem to support general file sharing yet.5/5(1)

Jan 03, 2014 · I am purchasing a Windows 8 phone and the ultimate goal is to create an ad-hoc network between it and my Windows RT (8.1) tablet. (for certain reasons) I was reading online about Ad-Hoc as I have not directly done this before in Windows 8 and I ran into several posts that said Windows RT does not support Ad-Hoc networks.

Oct 31, 2013 · In Windows 8.1 Enterprise. In GUI Ad-hoc connections does not show. Using netsh it shows but does not connect. C:\Windows\system32>netsh netsh>wlan netsh wlan>show networks Interface name : WiFi There are 2 networks currently visible.
