Dec 05, 2013 · Windows Easy Transfer DOES exist in 8.1 (at least it does in a box that has been upgraded from 8.0, search apps for "easy") however it will ONLY allow transfer from 8 or 7. It refuses to read a .MIG file from XP. I needed to transfer from XP (because support for XP is about to end...) to a new laptop running 8.1.
