Mar 06, 2015 · Windows will only support software RAID. These are the officially supported modes. It has been possible in previous Windows releases to enable unsupported modes through DLL modifications and/or registry changes, and this will probably be the case in Windows 7 as well. At your own risk, of course.

In Windows they don’t call their RAID options by the traditional 0, 1, 5, 10 etc. Instead they use spanned, striped, and mirrored as the options for creating software RAIDs. May 11, 2015 · After confirming with our product team, it says that RAID-5 is only supported on computers running Windows 2000 Server, Windows 2000 Advanced Server, Windows 2000 Datacenter Server, Windows Server 2003 or Windows Server 2008 Operating Systems. In Windows 7, only hardware-based RAID is supported.
