Jan 30, 2010 · So, the computer has a total of four processors but they are spread across two physically seperate chips. I jumped the gun with Vista and bought the professional version only to find out that it does not support multiple physical processors (only Ultimate does). So, what versions of Windows 7 support multiple physical processors?

You were correct about six months ago when there was talk about Home Premium only supporting one socket late last year but since they announced the starter edition and the likelihood of dual socket i7 systems being offered they've upped it to two like Pro and Ultimate.

Jul 17, 2013 · The guy commenting on Newegg should've said it won't support multiple processors, not "multiple cores." After I did my post earlier I realized most pre-built PCs & laptops now have dual-core CPUs and most come with Win 7 Home Premium outta the gate, so duh.

Jul 26, 2015 · Windows 8.1 didn't support 2 CPUs until the Pro edition, so I would imagine that it will be the same with Windows 10. Yeah.... thought that might be the case . I have a HP Z800 workstation with two 2.26 GHz Quad-Core Xeon and 24GB of Ram... but a Windows 7 Home Premium license.
