Oct 15, 2015 · It blinks a few time when switched on, but the WD TV Live does not recognize it anymore. I have removed the .wd_tv folder at the root, reset the device to factory settings, but still nothing. My other drives of 1 to 2 TB are still playing fine. So according to my experience, My Book Essential 3 TB does not work with WD TV Live.

Oct 15, 2015 · Hi, I was just wondering if it’s possible to use a 4TB HDD on the 3’rd Generation of WD TV Live? I today have a 2’nd Gen WD TV Live and it only support 2TB drives. I want to purchase a 4TB drive and 3’rd Gen WD TV Live to use for video - but I want to know if the 3’rd Gen can read from the HDD before I put it in the basket.
