Hello. What you have told is true VM don't support VPN's as you are on a consumer line. If you do a speed test without the VPN enable what do you get throughput, if you line shows 200mbs download and 20mbs upload, then it will be down to the VPN line, as a side note The Point-to-Point Tunneling Protocol (PPTP) is an obsolete method for implementing virtual private networks.

Re: Installing VPN on the Superhub 3 router. The Arris router referred to in the link is not a cable modem and the Hub 3 has no such menu option. The ASUS RT68U router (an earlier model) supports the NordVPN protocols including OpenVPN.

LibertyShield would suggest the modem is a non-essential upgrade to any existing Virgin Media customer already using the Super Hub 2ac or Super Hub 2. There is a slight improvement on the signal strength but not much else to write home about for anyone who needs anything other then a standard broadband package.

It stopped worked months ago, and I have tried a full reset of the router, setup my QNAP NAS open VPN (which always works), and I simply cannot VPN back to my home. My only conclusion is the VPN traffic is being blocked by Virgin somewhere.
