The Intel Xeon E5-2407 does not have Hyper-threading. Refer to this link . The Intel page you link to also lists the CPU has having only threads across 4 cores.

I'm running Ubuntu 14.04 on an Intel Core i7-2620m , (2.7 Ghz). I've checked in the bios that hyperthreading is activated, but on when doing less /proc/cpuinfo, hyperthreading appears off (sibling count = cpu count).

I have an i5-7440HQ CPU which doesn't support hyper-threading (Intel, WikiPedia, and my BIOS agree on this). Yet /proc/cpuinfo and dmidecode both show that hyperthreading is supported (but disabled). Dec 17, 2014 · So, AMD is ahead of Intel with the GHz even though Intel have hyper-threading and AMD chips do not This is the answer to the question posed in this thread (Does AMD have equivalent to Intel Hyperthreading?) AMD does better then hyperthreading because with their bios they achieve greater speeds (not an opinion, it's a fact).
