Nov 23, 2019 · Proper multi CPU core support in TF2? Hi, does TF2 use CPU cores better than TF1 or it is the same - main computing done one first core and some side computing on second core so game become pretty slow on large maps woth decent number of vehicles.

Jan 15, 2008 · Does it not support Dual core by default? I thought Valve revised the source engine just to add multi-core support to the new games. Anyhow, after some researching, I found the command "mat_queue_mode 2", an unsupported Source console command for multi-core support.

TF2 didn't want to spread its needs around and had one core at high usage and everything else at low usage. In TF2's Steam launch options, add -threads #. # is between 2 and the amount of cores you have in total minus 1 (see step 3).

Sep 10, 2009 · I didn't know Quake III supported dual core. Nice too, which games actually support 'multiple' threads, that will actually take advantage of all four cylinders in a quad. Also, by "Source Engine: soon", will this be included in just the release of Episode 2, releases after that, or for any game on Steam that uses the source engine?

Feb 16, 2008 · Is it correct when I say that I don't have a good enough CPU for Team Fortress 2? At least higher than my T5470? Here's my thought on the subject: On the official page, it say the recommended requirement is single core 2.4 Ghz, and my dual core @1.6 which should theoretically be better than the recommended requirement.
