This change does makes it incompatible with older ACL-patched rsync versions, but only when the new version is sending the ACL data. In the very latest version of the acls.diff patch, there is now a way to ask the newer rsync to send the ACL data is a way that is compatible with an older rsync

Jul 23, 2018 · Rsync is not a supported program within Isilon. It is included as part of the underlying FreeBSD platform. While the cp and chmod commands have been modified in OneFS to handle ACLs, rsync has not. rsync does not support OneFS ACLs, nor many other OneFS metadata.

Dec 24, 2011 · i would like to rsync our data from a linux environment to a QNAP TS-419U+. We use extended ACL's on the linux side. If i try to rsync (using the enabled QNAP rsync-server or direct via ssh), i get the information, that the rsync version on the NAS does not support ACLs:
