May 25, 2014 · Hi Michael, As already said, RIPv1 does not support VLSM/CIDR, so it cannot advertise the subnet masks of the advertised networks. What happens with RIPv1 would be that when the other routers receive the advertisement of the network 172.30.0.0 without any information about the subnet mask and since they already have the subnet 172.30.x.x connected they woun't be able to install it in …
