    Niels, it's actually a nice thing that Adobe provides after-the-release updates, or you'd never have had D90 support with Photoshop CS3. But you're right, if the automatic features of the software don't work right, you have to work through manual installations and then things can get a bit geeky.

    Photoshop cs3 can only be updated as as camera raw 4.6 and the Canon Rebel T3i needs at least camera raw 6.4. So, you could use the free adobe dng converter to convert the cr2 files to dng copies, which photoshop cs3 should then be able to open.
