Sep 25, 2012 · I bought the parallels so I could use windows apps on my MAC. I can get around some of the limitations of no firewire but the HDD problem is the worst! I really think you need to take a hard look at this issue. It is not trivial to some users. Also, it could be a good selling point if support was provided.

Aug 29, 2013 · I am a Parallels 7 User and I couldn't upgrade to version 8 or 9 or whatever without Firewire support. :-(Firewire is the ONLY feature I've ever wanted to have, I do a lot of digital editing and I want to be able to capture from a Firewire device like a Canon XH-A1.

Mar 03, 2007 · FireWire over USB Hi, I don't want to repeat questions asked before, but instead suggest a possible solution. Does anyone know if it is possible to connect e.g. a firewire disk/camera trough a special cable? The idea I thought of is to use a FireWire to USB cable. Since Parallels can use USB, this would be the first logical solution.

I need to use the legacy firewire drivers for my system. Windows 8 does not have this driver anymore and it does not allow the installation of the driver files from a Windows 7 system due to driver signing. The only way to get the driver to install is by enabling test mode and disabling something else. This results in a screen watermark.
