Perhaps the biggest hindrance of the Excel app for iPad is that it does not offer the ability to create new pivot tables, only the option to view existing ones. By extension, it does not offer the slicer for pivot tables, which means filtering a pivot table is impossible on your iPad.

Feb 08, 2018 · This is a user-to-user forum. If you want to communicate with Apple you can go to Numbers > Provide Numbers Feedback in our menu. I think Pivot Tables are great. But a lot of people don't use them in Excel. In Numbers you can do a lot of what Pivot Tables do using SUMIFS and COUNTIFS. SG

Pivot table simply do not exist in Numbers and as far as I know they have never existed. In previous versions however there was a feature called "Categories" which used to serve almost the same purpose, but unfortunately in the more recent versions many of the features has been removed and "Categories" is one of them.

Apr 08, 2017 · Back when I first started using iWork (09), I had heard that Numbers lacked the intermediate and advanced functions of Excel (like pivot tables). So I didn't invest the time to really learn how to exploit it. I later learned that it DOES offer pivot table-like functionality (but uses a different name to describe the capabilities).

Nov 10, 2015 · There is no direct equivalent in the Numbers user interface, where you can create (and modify) pivot tables with a few clicks and drags. However, you can create a "cross tab" type view of your data using SUMIFS. If you look up SUMIFS in the function browser you'll see how it works. It's much easier than it looks. Here is an example:

Aug 21, 2011 · Numbers for OS X has something called Table Catagories that is supposed to offer some of the pivot tables' functionality. I don't know anything about it myself, but here's the most helpful article I found on it. MacMost Now 478: Pivot Tables in iWork 09 Numbers The iPad version of Numbers does not have this feature.
