The latest firmware is on the Netgear site here. It's a pretty old router nowadays, and may not be the best for ADSL2+. May be time to look for something a bit more up-to-date.

Netgear DG834G and ADSL2+. I am currently on BT Broadband, at the end of the wire, and my downspeed is only 512 kbps. The BT test your phone number thing says I should be able to get 1Mbps. My line attenuation is sitting at 59dB which I believe is right on the edge of 1Mbps.
