Aug 19, 2011 · I have spend an age on the help line asking if the new MacBook Air will play the audio through the TV to support the movies using an iwire HDMI cable. Eventually they told me no it wont. However, from System Preferences - Sound - Output (and made sure the HDMI was plugged in to the TV) it allowed me to toggle between the devices named.

The adapter is a three-in-one with integrated VGA, DVI, and HDMI connections. However, I'm having trouble with the audio. Using the audio MIDI application, the audio does play to the TV via HDMI on the adapter but, when setting the audio source to be the HDMI device, my MacBook does not play audio.
