Sep 04, 2014 · My BD player (non DLNA sony bdp-s380) plays files from my windows 7 media player library over a network. it'll play MP4 files, but not the AC3 passthru (done in handbrake) only 2 ch mixdown. it will also play mpeg2 files from my library, with 5.1 audio. two questions Does a newer player play 5.1 mp4 files? is DLNA required/relevant at all?

Oct 08, 2014 · I see that DTS passthrough is now available via MKV files! Yipee!! The issue I have is that most of my files are in MP4 format. I have tried some conversions using MKVToolNix from MP4 to MKV, but they outputs seem to be stripped of their DTS tracks. I need to figure that out... If any one has assistance with that that would be great.

Aug 06, 2017 · I dont want to re-encode these files into mp4 .m4v format as it would for ever. Since the content is already in H264/AC3, is there a simple way to make it playable by iTunes/ATV2? I really wish iTunes had the support for .mkv format. By the way, I have a PC AMD Athlon XP2 and it takes be for ever to re-encode these .mkv files to .mp4.

Nov 02, 2016 · With great effort (and discussion with customer support), I was able to change it's output to be AC3 vs AAC, again for reason stated above. I did not anticipate I would need to gop-edit the MP4/ac3 files with AviDemux, but an occasion arose today requiring that. But got hit by the "does not support AC3 in MP4" bomb.

Mar 20, 2015 · The Handbrake .mp4 file, used the High Profile basis but amended a few settings. It was encoded with h.264 video codec, video quality was Constant Quality RF 19. Audio had Track 0 English (AC3) (2.0 ch) as AAC, Stereo Mixdown at 320 bitrate and Track 1 English (AC3) (5.1 ch) AC3 Passthrough 448 bitrate and created a file of 1.12GB.
