Nov 01, 2015 · Bluetooth is very short distance networking protocol that works between various devices but has a very limited distance range. That being said, sending messages via Bluetooth is not a function built-in to iOS that I know of. Maybe someone else can chime in with a app that does that.

From what I read Apple seems to be quiet protective over sending SMS messages programmatically however they do have such classes as MFMessageComposeViewController to allow the fields to be filled or the sms:// url or even SMSTO for QR codes. However is there a way to automate it via Bluetooth from say a Mac.

Sep 03, 2013 · On the Ford I got the message "The currently connected phone does not support text messaging via bluetooth" when trying to access the messaging options. On both the car and the bluetooth speaker when I get a text message it doesn't notify me or let me reply. My Lumia 900 worked with both of these devices.

Aug 19, 2014 · the currently connected phone does not support text messaging via bluetooth. I have a captivate with ATT and recently sync'd with my 2011 Ford Edge. One of the features of the MY Touch and Ford Sync is that you can have your text messages displayed and even read (text to voice) on the Sync/My Touch system.
