Just to confirm, the iPhone DOES support AD2P with the 3.0 software update. I own the LG HBS-200 stereo headset and I can listen to music flawlessly right up to the 10m range limit of the headphones.

Dec 07, 2009 · The 3G and 3GS have the same bluetooth profiles. The iPhone does not support any bluetooth file transfer protocols - just the handsfree protocol (HSP and HFP) stereo streaming (A2DP) and the PBA protocol (allows other devices to scan/browse iPhones contact list).

Oct 28, 2013 · And output is your bluetooth earpiece. Nowe you can listen to tv with a bluetooth earpiece. No iPhone needed. My Plantronics PLT_M50 works great. Probably have to have a2dp on bluetooth earpiece but this has it. Got it at costco for 30 bucks. You can use line in also instead of system preferences. Input default and and output bluetooth or dmzmusic.

Feb 13, 2017 · It does not support the "sink" role of the A2DP profile, which would let it receive audio. There is a Toshiba driver that installs this service on their laptops to make up for this regression (the Bluetooth stack Toshiba shipped with Windows 7 had this feature), but its INF file is set up to only install on Toshiba computers.

My trusty, rusty Motorola s305 Bluetooth headphones from 2009 only support A2DP. The A2DP standard operates in stereo and supports most of the standard audio compression codecs.
