I try browsing to the following CSS fixed positioning example in firefox and in IE9 and firefox works, but ie9 does not (left pane menu is not fixed):

Looks like this might have fixed a problem I had. I had some relative positioning that made image alignment look right on Firefox & Chrome, but IE was messed up. By implementing the above, all three are now consistent in their (wrong but easily fixable) alignment! – winwaed Oct 29 '18 at 20:32

If you check this demo with chrome or firefox then you can see the .test div positioning vorking correctly but when you open the demo with internet explorer then you can see the .test div shifted to the left side.
