I would like to know how to apply border-radius to IE8 and below IE8 browsers. I know that border-radius is a HTML5 feature and IE8 doesn't support it. I found that by using .htc we can achieve this but by using htc I am encountering the problem of black background. I am unable to overcome this problem.

Whenever browsers begin to support this property it will be "border-radius" itself. Padding itself shouldn't be a problem to using images. Maybe post your situation and code.

Apr 20, 2012 · I can probably offer you the best solution, don’t worry about IE having square corners. IE is old and attempting to support CSS3 features is just going to waste your time, simply make your website gracefully degrade in IE8 and below and for all modern browsers make it look cool with rounded corners.

What about support for border radius AND background gradient. Yes IE9 is to support them both seperately but if you mix the two the gradient bleeds out of the rounded corner. Below is a link to a poor example but i have seen it in my own testing as well. Should of taken a screen shot :( Maybe the real question is when will IE support CSS...
