Apr 01, 2014 · we can now do a dir > lpt1 and print, but from with in DOSBox, we still get nothing. when i try to run this command from DOSBox, it says net is a bad command. i am suing he standard build from DOSBox, but i see threads that talk about using the HAL 9000 build, so i have downloaded it. will this allow me to run my net use command?

In this case please note that the Standard DosBox build available at the link above does NOT support parallel port emulation, so, print jobs sent by a DOS program to (say) LPT1: in DosBox simply "disappears" and Printfil receives nothing to capture, even if you've selected the LPT1: port at Configuration -> Standard.4.7/5(24)

DOSBox-SVN-lfn now (8 May 2016) supports parallel-port passthrough; you can print from DOSBox-SVN-lfn to LPT1, and the output will be redirected either to an actual LPT1 if it exists in your system or to any printer that you have designated as LPT1 through the NET USE command in Windows.
