The thing is I need to create VLANs using the small business SG300 switches and propagate those VLANs to the C2960S using the GVRP protocol, but Cat2960S only have VTP protocol to propagate VLANs. I have found on the internet that Small business SG300 does not support VTP but I’m not sure.

I have another question, the SG300-28 is connected to a Catalyst 2960 switch . and I would like to know if GVRP is compatible with the VTP on the Catalyst . 2960? Or does GVRP has to be configured on the whole network for it to work?

Hi Thomas, GVRP and VTP are 2 different things. The small business products do not support VTP and GVRP does not interoperate with VTP. Sadly GVRP is close to, if not one of the least used protocols basically because it requires more configuration to set it up than it does to just make the trunks yourself.
