The BT Home Hub 4, Hub 5 and BT Smart Hub are dual band with two wireless frequencies for devices to connect to: 2.4GHz and 5GHz. On both Hubs, the default setting has the same network name (or SSID) for both the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands.

The Bt HH4 uses both 2.4GHZ and 5GHZ wireless Networks. Should I switch the 2.4GHZ network off and leave the 5GHZ network on so that I will then enjoy a faster wirelesss experience. I would not do that. If the device can use the 5GHz it will select it if it is in range, if it is not it will drop back to the 2.4GHz …

My Samsung Galaxy Note II can connect to the 5GHz wireless on the dual-band BT Home Hub 5 without any problems and I can stream video without pixelation or blocking or any other issues. In other words, I do not believe that the problem lies with the Samsung Galaxy Note II, but with the extender.
