Jun 05, 2013 · I solved the issue in a quite strange and simple way: you must start Batman Arkham Asylum with your 360 controller unplugged from your computer, then when you face the first screen of the game (the one with "Click to Start") you plug your controller, and it will work perfectly.

May 22, 2013 · Using an wired x-Box Controller by Microsoft. Works great. Played Batman Arkham City on a PS3 before but I prefer the xbox-controller over the PS3 controller. Wouldnt want to play this game with mouse/keyb.

I have an Elecom Wireless Gamepad, and a Windows 7 PC (64bit). I bought Batman: Arkham Origins through steam. My Elecom didn't work, so I borrowed a friend's USB Xbox controller. It doesn't work either. In the steam interface, in the Store, it says that Batman: Arkham Origins has full controller support. Has a huge graphic advertising it.

The 360 controller emulator works perfectly too for older/other controllers. But yes, the PC version automatically switches into full 360 controller mode when you use one, all the same on screen stuff from the consoles appears, which isn't needed when using mouse and keyboard. Controller is better for this game btw, especially the fighting.
