It is also solved my problem with Toshiba laptop, Windows Vista and Atheros driver combination for Wifi, after trying every single solution provided in the website. The upgrade version of 7.7.xxx does read the WPA2 protection, unlike the previous version 7.6.xxx.

You want to update the Atheros adapter but you want the computer search to be in the folder where you just loaded the adapter update. This is a critical step not mentioned elsewhere in this forum. You must update your adapter here. ... It has to do with the older Atheros drivers not having support for the newer WPA2-Personal security.

Apr 26, 2011 · Drivers for Atheros AR5007EG and Windows Vista Assuming that after all the above the wireless still does not connect to the internet, all I can suggest is to use wireless security of WEP or to get an external USB wireless card. You might also bug your laptop's tech support about the problem--maybe people can put pressure on Atheros to find a fix.

If it was Windows 7 then it's possible the router does not support WPA2-PSK[AES] while Windows 10, like Windows 8 and 8.1 no longer supports WPA-PSK[TKIP]. Check your router Advanced Wireless Setup page. I know how routers and their systems work. My router nd card both supports wpa-psk and also wpa2-psk.

Atheros AR5009 802.11a/g/n WiFi Adapter . When using their old equipment, there were no problems. Symptom: When upgrading to a new router, normally connection is made to the local network, but one cannot access the internet. Symptom: Wireless connects if using WEP security or no security, but will not connect when using WPA2-Personal security.

Feb 21, 2014 · how can I get WPA2 PSK support on Atheros AR5007 802.11b/g WiFi Adapter with Premium Home Vista? It's the Lack of Software support for this WiFi Adapter! Microsoft and/or HP are not pressurring the Atheros Communications Inc. and so the Wifi. adapter won't work with the current Access Points/Routers that require it!

Thank you very much, same issue, HP/Compaq laptop wouldn’t connect to my new router with WPA/WPA2 security enabled, upgraded Atheros driver to this version, restarted laptop and now it connects to Internet just fine, your work in coming up with this solution is much appreciated.

Jan 02, 2020 · In the Tech Support Forum (TSF) Networking Forum, we have recently been seeing quite a few problems with the Atheros AR5007EG & AR5007 adapters over the last few months, mainly concerning WPA and WPA2 encryption and Windows Vista. The adapter gets an IP configuration, and shows as connected, but communication is non-existent or sporadic.
