Dec 18, 2015 · No excuse not to have it with the modern boxes, as I’m sure the video chipsets they’re using already allow for that video frequency. Are there no movie buffs working at Apple? Because no self respecting movie purist would use an Apple TV if it can't support a movie's native frame rate. It blows my mind that a $200 box does not support this.

Sep 18, 2017 · That means we need to set Apple TV to 4k to 60fps and live with the 3:2 Pulldown. But for some of us there might be other problems. 4k with Dolby Vision and 60fps is for example not supported by the pretty common LG Oled B6. We need to manually set the TV to 30fps to get Dolby Vision support. Thats really crap.

At this time, Apple TV 4K doesn’t support this output mode.

Jan 03, 2018 · Have just bought the New Apple TV 4K for my non 4K TV xD only because of the support of 24p xD Which is something that unfortunately has taken Apple so long time to take seriously, but now it seems to me that 24p is only supported on SDR content in 4K and not on SDR content in 1080p.

Irrespective of whether content producers should or shouldn’t produce pure 24p content, the fact is that there is an increasing amount of pure 24p content and the Apple TV can’t handle it. Take the new breaking bad movie on Netflix for example. It frameskips throughout when played on the Apple TV.
