May 14, 2015 · If you install PhysX when you have a AMD graphics card the calculation is made on the cpu instead as i understand it. I remeber when I had a AMD card and enabled PhysX in games, those games that allowed to enable this setting even if you had a AMD gfx card, the game would run would run horribly slow like Alice: Madness Returns.

Mar 02, 2012 · I want to get a graphics card, and AMD and NVidia both have competitive prices and models. So far, I've only been looking at NVidia graphics cards, but that's mostly because I think PhysX is only on NVidia graphics cards, and because NVidia update their drivers a lot more often, and arguably give more bang for your buck.

May 27, 2019 · Yes its open source and AMD could support it in their GPUs if they wanted. They don't That said, at this point Physx can be done on the CPU without much performance hit, so you don't really earn much by using GPU Physx

Aug 02, 2016 · PhysX is the very thing that made me start to really dislike nvidia because even when it works its pure SHIT. Actually when they disabled gpu physx when any AMD card was detected (And i never even owned AMD) was the first straw. I have seen all kinds of cpu based physic that blows away Nvidia proprietary effects anyway.
