Jul 26, 2017 · The cpu is AMD Athlon XP 2800+. My OS is Lubuntu 16.04.2 LTS. As I got to Firefox 54.0 playing videos became difficult as Firefox often crashes. I asked Mozilla and what I understood is the crashes might depend on proceeding .mp4 files as Firefox 54.0 uses the SSE2 cpu extension that my machine does not have. Jun 08, 2016 · However I would like to update to Windows 10 but the the Windows 10 update utility says the processor does not support NX, SSE2 and PAE. I have used the Cmd prompt and set NX to always on but to no avail. My Asus mainboard bios does not have the setting to enable or disable these functions. Any help would be appreciated. May 05, 2006 · The Athlon XP is a socket A cpu. It is not made with sse2 or sse3. The 3000+ is the 2nd fastest socket a only the 3200+ is faster and would not be worth the cost of the upgrade, not enough performance difference to justify it. The Turion is the new mobile chip based on socket 754. 754 is on it's way out as socket 939 is the current AMD standard.
