Dec 13, 2007 · Now I tested myself MTU sizes with Airport Extreme for n networks on its wired ports. Yes it seems to support jumbo frames finally in this release. If you need to know what size is maximum I can give you the number, but since the interest in the issue is so low I am not going to pulish it.

Feb 22, 2010 · I have a Mac Mini (Gigabit switch) wired with cat 6 to the latest Airport Extreme, through a netgear gigabit network switch (which supports jumbo frames) by cat6. I have enabled Jumbo Frames on my Mac Mini (10.5.8) and on my Windows Home Server. I have read that my AE supports Jumbo Frames but can't see a setting for it in airport utility

Jan 25, 2016 · You are mixing up the terminology.. Express and Extreme are totally different. The title is correct.. Extreme.. the text of your question replaces with Express.. they are only 10/100.. and only 2 gen of them. Any airport extreme from Gen2- Gen6. Use Gigabit ports. Do not support jumbo frames. Do not support pairing.

But Apple's case design still allows only one WAN and three LAN ports to be exposed, none of which support jumbo frames. RAM has been increased from 64 to 128 MB, but flash stayed the same at 16 MB. Note the big ol' button-cell battery, I guess to keep info alive in RAM.

On HH3 interface the airport shows as Gb connection and so does BT vision and the PC in the living room under the TV. Previously i had jumbo frames activated on the PC, airport extreme and my NAS upstairs in the office.

Enabling jumbo-frame support on the ports only enables jumbo frame support for L2 switching. If jumbo-frames need to be routed you need to change the ip mtu for the vlans that will route these. This need to be adjusted on every vlan that will route the jumbo-frames (ingress and egress).
