Jul 30, 2014 · I have long been able to add metadata to MP3 files that will show up in iTunes, but I now have a need to do the same with WAV or AIFF files. The same data entered in the same metadata fields in Adobe Audition does not whow up in WAV files, but appears just fine in MP3 files.

Oct 11, 2011 · Basically, an AIFF file has all the convenience of an MP3, containing metadata and cover art, with the audio quality of an uncompressed “lossless” format like WAV. And some cursory Googling suggests that AIFF and WAV don't incorporate any space for metadata information. Do you have software that does keep metadata in AIFFs? If, as it appears, AIFF does not support metadata, we can consider adding support for tracking this kind of file in the database, even if we can't write any tags in them.
