Internet Explorer supports PNG images but is unable to correctly display images with gamma correction or color correction. Thanks, that chart answers my question, basically only GIF and JPG are supported by the main browsers without problem. I don't see BMP in that list, but I think that it's supported too.

Usually that term applies to cookies or fingerprinting managed by target websites. All browsers listed have an option to block cookies, but don't do so by default. Or did you mean the browser itself tracks the user, and reports back to the browser's parent company? I think most browsers have the right to report back to their parent company.

Feb 28, 2011 · For practical application purposes, out of your list only PNG and GIF images natively support transparency. Bitmap (BMP) files do not inherently support transparency and only some programs (such as Adobe Photoshop) can read an alpha layer (the transparency layer) on a bitmap file.
