Does anyone know this, I have looked on a few articles and it starts talking about Vector saving versus Bitmap saving, and well that is just a bit deep for a Tuesday Afternoon. So does BMP support Transparency and if not then what is a good alternative?

Feb 27, 2011 · Bitmap (BMP) files do not inherently support transparency and only some programs (such as Adobe Photoshop) can read an alpha layer (the transparency layer) on a bitmap file. TIFF format support transparency but it will increase your file size than JPEG format.

So in order to save an image with transparency in one of these formats, you first need to replace the transparent pixels with a different color (the transparent color).
