May 01, 2010 · I am in the process of updating my counter tops in my kitchen. I have a question regarding what options I have to support the stone while it goes over my dishwasher. Saddly our dishwasher is at the end of the counter so the granite cant be supported on the other end because the stove is adjacent to it.

Jun 19, 2017 · I have a similar situation. A dishwasher, next to a stove, and on the other side a sink. We actually needed to install the dishwasher with a supportive panel on either side made from 3/4 ply wood. It doesn't show, only supports the wood counter. We also ran a support rail along the wall.

Aug 22, 2007 · Re: Can a built in dishwasher support the counter? Cod, NO! Dishwashers don't even touch the counter above. The highest point is the door, the rest is up to a few inches lower, and not flat. Generally however, to counter just bridges over it anyway, so it might work if you can remove the cabinet framing without disturbing anything. Jaz
