When I downgraded the OS from Vista to XP on my Compaq C762NR, I had to disable the Sata native support. Mar 29, 2019 · Hi, I'm using ROG Z390-I with BIOS version 0805 I have a nvme disk in M.2_2, and a SATA disk to SATA6G_1 Sometime I'd like to disable the nvme disk. In BIOS, I set Advanced -> PCH Storage Configuration -> M.2_2 to "Disabled" This doesn't work, system still see the nvme disk. Tried to set Boot -> AMI Native NVMe Driver Support to Off, dont work also.

Dec 07, 2007 · This is the SATA info in device manager "Intel (R) 82801GBM SATA AHCI controller (Mobile ICH7M)" Therefore, I am sure that the HD is Sata, so i've ruled that out as the explanation. When I enter BIOS from Startup, I enter System Configuration and Sata Native Support is nowhere to be found.

Actully it's AHCI you want to disable not SATA. SATA has two modes normal IDE and AHCI. You need to use one or the other to access the SATA drives. If you disable SATA then you have no access to the hard drives at all. If you don't have that option in the BIOS then you need to burn a custom Windows XP with the ACHI SATA drivers included.
