hi ya. income support is more aimed at single parents with children under the age of 7. if there are 2 parents that means at least one of them would be able to work so a couple would claim jobseekers. also i think as you are working depending on your earnings you may get a top up on your wages but your partner wont be able to claim job seekers.

Nov 04, 2008 · Best Answer: Job Seekers Allowance and Income Support are virtually the same benefits. They have two seperate claims forms (although you usually claim over the phone nowadays), but the information goes to two different sections of the DWP and the forms are different.

When I'd my first son I was 19 and just finished my college course so obviously I wasn't in a position to get a job so I went to the sso and I had to sign on for two weeks cause app u can only claim income support 11 weeks before baby is due so to make sure u get some money they make u sign on jsa but u don't actually seek work.
