Delphi 7 is no longer sold by Emba, you may be able to get limited support from other users via their newsgroups. If you want to use a copy, one possible way is to purchase a current Delphi version and that may give you a licence to use D7, and if it does, you can then download D7 from Emba's site. Delphi versions prior to Delphi 2009 do have Unicode support built in. The WideString type has been available since Delphi 4, I think, maybe earlier. WideString isn't as nice as the new UnicodeString type, but it still holds 16-bit Unicode characters, and you can type-cast it to PWideChar to send strings to Unicode API functions.

Compounding that with the need to consider shortstrings, the lack of generics, rudimentary interface support, a less sophisticated IDE, and so on in order to support Delphi 7 or 2007, means that our workload increases dramatically to offer a new control for arguably not much benefit.
