hello, I have an aging XPS 410 which i have recently upgraded with an ATI 6870 and a bigger PSU rated at 600 watts. I want to also upgrade the processor but found out that socket 775 on this machine is limited to CPU rated at 1066.

Re: XPS 410 motherboard specs question Right, I have one of those 4-pin-to-5-pin connectors. I just read that some 4-pin fan headers, 5-pin in the case of the Dell XPS 410 although one of the pins is unused, support voltage speed control and not PWM speed control, which prompted me to make this thread.

Re: Dell xps 410 The specs from the support page list a Core 2 Duo as the compatible CPU not a quad. As for memory DDR2 800 with a maximum of 1 GB in each slot for a total of 4 GB. And you are right, that system is around 13 years old.

I am updating my XPS 410 from XP to Windows 10 64 bit (I hope). It is a Pentium D X86 2.8 ghz., I will install 8gb ram DDR2 PC2-5300, 256 gb 850 Pro Samsung SSD. My Bios is Dell 2.4.2. System info shows Dell version 14. This computer was running a RAID, but I am not using that feature.
