If Sigmatel is not listed there, go to your hard drive, c:\Dell\Drivers\R...(Sigmatel driver file name) and delete the folder. Next download and install a new audio driver from the v1400 driver downloads page. Expand the 'Audio' category and download the current Sigmatel. Mar 05, 2012 · there's no Vista-specific edition of the Sigmatel 975x AC97 Audio driver, swedishalan. the Win2k/XP Sigmatel AC97 sound driver from Dell's R99254 package should work okay under Vista/Win7, although some Vista/Win7 users may have to run the Sigmatel AC97 Audio driver setup program in XP Compatibility mode to properly install the drivers.

Sep 19, 2017 · Clean window's install on my XPSm1330 gave me sound via HDMI and Headphones (only 1 of 2 jacks) but not from built in speakers. I too went to Dell support site and downloaded the SigmaTel High Definition Audio Codec that they had listed for Vista 64-bit which is version 6.10.0.5866 (file name R186858.exe). Extracted but cancel set up.
