Re: Inspiron 1720 CPU Upgrade The T9500 is the fastest Core 2 Duo (800 MHz bus) -- you cannot use the 1066 MHz bus CPUs, nor any of the new Core i3/5/7 CPUs. These run about $300 for a tray CPU (no Intel warranty and/or used) to about $500 or so for a boxed CPU with a full warranty.
