But I am correct in thinking that the Xeon chips themselves support VT, and all that is required is a bios update for the PE1850 to be able to do VT?? Wonder if anyone with Dell insider knowledge has any idea if this will ever happen.

I need to know all the processors that the Poweredge 1850 supports. I am particularly interested to know if it supports the Paxville MP Dual cores @800mhz that has Intel VT. It has the socket 604, and from my understanding the 1850 supports the Paxville DP series. (no intel VT) Please advise, thanks...

Re: Dell PowerEdge 1855 VT support on Bios Most of Dell's 8th generation servers (e.g. 1850, 2850, and the 1855) didn't have VT as Intel didn't offer it in the processors. It didn't become a capability till the 9th generation servers.
