Oct 16, 2008 · WPA2-Enterprise, Dell 1390, Dell 1510, Intel 3945 ... It's a pity that Dell support doesn't seem to know about this. Also, Dell used to claim that WPA2-Enterprise was supported, maybe they no longer say so. I have heard that the problem is the drivers with Vista - these Broadcomm cards work OK in XP, so I've heard.

Re: Dell 1390 wireless incompatibility with WPA-PSK (WPA-TPIK) Larry R- The router, a Netgear WGR614v4, is about three years old and supports only WPA-PSK, not WPA2. It works fine with my Dell Inspiron 1520 (Intel 4965 wireless minicard adapter), but not with my Latitude D520 (Dell 1390 …

Oct 16, 2008 · I do not have the WPA2 option in my Dell Wireless utility. I have read the other threads and tried the suggested steps, but nothing has worked. When I try to re-install the MS WPA2 update, it says the version I have is later and aborts the installation. For what it's worth, Windows Zero Config (WZC) works with WPA2, but I do not like using it.

Dec 28, 2007 · I'm confused because Dell's 1390 product page *and* the Dell WLAN Utility's help files both refer to WPA2 support but it doesn't seem to work. With my router (Dlink WBR-2310; firmware 1.04) set to WPA2-EAS mode, the Vostro's 1390 card does not authenticate. In WPA2-Auto-EAS mode (this is a mixed mode accepting both WPA and WPA2 clients ...

(or the driver) did not support the needed WPA2-PSK [AES] encryption option (at least I could find no way to select that). I went to the Dell suport site to look for a later driver for the E1505, but the latest Dell-provided driver was supplied by. file R174291.exe, which corresponds to driver version 4.170.25.12.

Re: Dell 1390 wireless incompatibility with WPA-PSK (WPA-TPIK) I'm not sure it will help, but I just installed a new driver/application for the 1390 card from Dell, posted 5/13/09. This may still be the February 2009 driver that catalyst11 says does not work, because after the update, the driver shows in Device Manager as 2/20/09.

Hi Larry. I have a problem with connecting with my WLAN, could you help me? I have Vostro 1500 with Dell Wireless 1390 mini-Card and Linksys WAG200G access point which is set up to "WPA2-Personal" Security mode with AES authentication.

Aug 23, 2009 · I did about 5 minutes of googling and there appears to be a lot of people in your same situation. The 1390 supports WPA2 but the dell drivers are old and dont support it by the looks of things.
