Jul 14, 2011 · the Daytona support will use a solid spacer in the range of .470-.490 thick to establish the proper preload on the pinion bearings with the nut torqued to 180-220 ft/lbs as you can see you will not gain proper preload on the bearings as the crush sleeve is not thick enough to take up the torque required for the pinion nut.

Photo below shows a the D2OW-C hooded daytona pinion support which may have been the last Ford production Daytona support from what I have seen. Daytona pinion supports are found in conjunction with N cases, they have the same size outer bearing as the standards supports, but the inner bearing is much larger, and the inner webbing much stronger.
