Mar 12, 2016 · No, it's an old game that used/uses keyboard-look. Games using mouse-look as standard would come a little later. It could be played with mouse-look just perfectly great, IF it were ported like quite a few other older FPSs have been and are now ported and way playable, some of those games even older than this one! But we're all like waiting on that, I guess hehe heh hmm

In addition, in the game, it allows vertical mouse look and weapon cycling with the mouse wheel (like Dark Forces Plus and other GlovePIE/FreePIE scripts). It also allows for superimposing a crosshair over the screen, which I've seen at least one person ask about.

Jan 21, 2018 · Bought Dark Forces some hours ago and it works like the retail version I used in conjuction with D-Fend Reloaded (a DOSBox GUI). You can't bind looking up/down or secondary fire to the mouse. The game autolocks on enemies regardless of their elevation, but there are some specific spots where looking up can make it a bit easier for the game's autolocking feature to kill those higher …

Jan 09, 2016 · Just turned off inverted axis for up/down mouse (for anyone else reading this, you have to click the y axis separately in the mouse control options, then the reverse direction will become ticked, untick it) also changed resolution to 800×600 and worked perfectly , no issues, so a big thanks to the above guys for their replies

You can easily change the keyboard controls by swapping the "dark.exe" line in the Dosbox.conf file to "install.exe". This will open the game's native setup menu, where you'll find the control settings. There are some native mouse options, but they're quite limited. Change that back to "dark.exe…

Great job, keep up the good work! I can’t wait for secondary fire support! Multiplayer sounds awesome too. Ever since Cybercraft Dark3D project started and then died, I’ve been dreaming of playing Dark Forces again but with 3d acceleration and mouse-look, but I never dreamed I’d see the day when something even better was coming out!

Star Wars Dark Forces was re-released a few months ago on Steam, but still uses the keyboard for game play, so I created this profile. NOTE: This profile is meant to be used with the Steam version of Dark Forces. Let me know if you have any questions or problems. *****

Both teams keep in touch through E-mail and the id team has played Dark Forces and (according to a Lucas PR person) loved every bit of it. This is probably because Dark Forces includes some of the features which id is supposedly including in its latest title, Quake. The most obvious difference is that in Dark Forces, you can look up and down.
