Jul 29, 2010 · No, OpenGL support in CS4(for ATi or nVidia). There is a lot of talk about CS5's "Mercury Playback Engine." I've seen a list of supported cards, but I'm wondering if other CUDA cards will accelerate stuff like rendering even if they don't help at all with the playback.

CUDA acceleration appears as an option for the Mercury Playback Engine in both Premiere and Media Encoder. When I make an export, even with CUDA selected, the software encodes with my CPU instead. I was under the impression that on Windows 10 I only need to install the driver, that I don't need a separate CUDA driver like on macOS.

This is not a Premiere Pro issue, it is because CUDA drivers are not natively installed in your shiny new MacBook Pro. You need to do that in order for CUDA processing to work with the Mercury Playback Engine.
