Apr 25, 2019 · The first thing I would do is try to measure any deflection in the beam. Tack a piece of wood at one support, and another of identical depth at the other support, and stretch a string over the blocks, measuring from the bottom of the beam to the string. I would also check with a level held against the bottom of the beam.
