Motivation and Context Now on all FreeBSD hw platforms that support cpu temp sensor it will be available for user. #16098 will require to include this feature. How Has This Been Tested? I build and run kodi with this patch, it show CPU temp in info. Tested on FreeBSD 11.2, 12.1 amd64 Other FreeBSD users use this patch during few years.

“i386” means 32bit, “amd64” means 64bit. In brief, this is due to AMD having designed the original 64bit extensions for x86. Intel Core CPUs will still be listed as amd64 on the BSDs. In Linux, “/proc/cpuinfo” shows the capabilities of a CPU, but it may be throttling down for power saving.

RDRAND support is indicated by CPUID Fn00000001_ECX[30]. This bit can be reset by clearing MSR C001_1004[62]. Any software that checks for RDRAND support using CPUID, including the kernel, will believe that RDRAND is not supported. Update the CPU initialization to clear the RDRAND CPUID bit for any family 15h and 16h processor that supports RDRAND.
