Jul 07, 2013 · For both mplayer and mpv, once forcing vaapi, once without. It was the size of the window that was diffferent for mplayer and mpv. Mplayer seems to display a full 1920x1080 window which goes beyond the screen (my resolution is 1440x900) while mpv creates a properly maximized window with black bars (it maintains aspect ratio).
