Dec 23, 2016 · I read here that ffmpeg now includes rtmp, and seeing as the guide in the website is quite old, how can I build ffmpeg just to do h264 video muxing and rtmp networking? I tried following the guide though but failed due to too many errors compiling openssl. I dont need openssl anyway so this guide would not be ok for me.

I am trying to compile librtmp so I can build FFmpeg with RTMP support for ARM processor. I already have the toolchain, and solo build of FFmpeg was also successful, and testing from inside the ARM processor was success as well. My understanding: - Ffmpeg -- Librtmp --- Openssl --- zlib This hierarchy is required to build FFmepg.

Nov 12, 2019 · I’m on Debian Sid, using an NVIDIA card with proprietary drivers from the Sid repos. I want to enable hardware encoding on OBS - however, the ffmpeg and obs-studio packages currently in the Sid repos were not compiled with NVENC support. This led me to trying the flatpak and snap releases of OBS, but both gave me different issues in detecting my GPU. So I took to compiling it …

The guide you linked to is currently missing necessary instructions to compile x265 support for ffmpeg, so there is no wonder why your build doesn't have x265 support while someone else's does. You have 3 options: You could follow the instructions on the x265 wiki to build the standalone encoder.

I'm trying to build ffmpeg with NVENC support so I can then build obs-studio with NVENC support, using this as a guide. I've sorted out every dependency after a bit of headache, and am now to the point where I should be able to compile ffmpeg with the edits to its rules file just fine. However, my trusty terminal spits the following out at me:

So if I understand what you are saying… there is not even a non-default option to compile with quick sync support. Because that would violate ffmpeg's licensing terms? Some BSD License (for ffmpeg) might have really helped here. In this instance I really don't understand how the GPL?LGPL? is any less draconian than Intel's terms on their ...
