May 13, 2014 · Apple Halo is all gone. I'm unable to focus on my work in Aperture 3 because of persistant crashes while editing. Unfortunately reading the threads about these NVIDIA GPU's shows that even folks that have the logic board replaced (because some genius designed it with the GPU welded to it) still have the panics.

Jul 25, 2011 · I can confirm this as an immediate workaround, at least: I installed gfxCardStatus, set to "i" (integrated graphics only), and haven't had a single crash issue since (about 4 days of heavy use).

Sep 12, 2013 · This is the same series of computer that others are experiencing problems with. The advice given to them should pertain to you as well: Disable graphics switching in the system preferences or by using the tool "gfxCardStatus" to help prevent this behavior, and possibly get the system services to replace the logic board, though this will be an expensive fix.

First, back up everything. Second, format the disk and reinstall Yosemite. Restore from your time machine backup. If the problem persists, you have a hardware failure and should take it in to apple.
